BrandTech® and our Distributor Partners

Since BrandTech’s founding in 1996 we’ve built our business on distribution relationships. Today our business success remains closely aligned with that of our distribution partners. Our network includes large global distributors, regional and specialty distributors. Some of our partners are broadly focused; others specialize in specific market segments or industries, such as agricultural testing or medical; while some are more geographically oriented.

Each of our distribution partners brings their own expertise and customer base giving BrandTech broad and deep reach into the laboratory market. Our goal is to reach more customers than would otherwise be possible with a reasonably-sized direct sales force, through the extended reach of the distributor sales teams.

The BrandTech Channel Team supports our distribution partners with pricing, product training and data, marketing, promotional offers, and much more - all in an effort to leverage the many benefits our distribution partners bring to the market. BrandTech’s success is intertwined with that of our distributors, this collaboration ensures our continued mutual success.

Vacuum at its Origin

In 1654 Otto von Guericke performed the famous “Magdeburg Hemispheres Experiment”.  He used the first ever vacuum pump to remove the air from two hemispheres to demonstrate that even with great force, they couldn’t be separated. This was the first record of a true vacuum pump being used to displace air. 300 years later in 1961, the first products under the VACUUBRAND® trademark were created at RUDOLF BRAND® in Wertheim, Germany. Over the next 60 years, VACUUBRAND continues to develop and deliver invovative vacuum products.

Moving forward with technology innovation, in 1987 VACUUBRAND developed the first microprocessor vacuum pump controller. This detected vapor pressures and used this data to adjust vacuum levels to accommodate changing solvent conditions.

In 1994, VACUUBRAND introduced VACUU·LAN®, the first local-area vacuum network to include integrated check valves and chemically resistant components. This approach to lab vacuum became widely popular around Europe because of its ability to allow up to eight different vacuum uses with one device.

Almost 30 years later in 2022, VACUUBRAND is now proud to showcase our VACUU·PURE® 10C, an oil-free, chemically resistant screw pump with no wear parts. This is a revolutionary product design because it handles high vapor loads across a wide pressure range with a completely clean process. So, while it may seem like vacuum technology hasn’t changed much in the last 60 years, at VACUUBRAND we’re happy to contribute to vacuum technology.

Top 5 Applications of 3D Cell Cultures

3D cell cultures have developed significantly in the last decade, with the advent of organoids and the development of more complex assembloids. These developments have led to some promising new applications of this technology. This infographic sponsored by BrandTech and developed by BioTechniques highlights five research fields that have particularly benefitted from 3D cell-culture models and some key studies that have exemplified their utility along the way.
