Container Compatibility Overview

The Dispensette® S uses a GL 45 connection, a common laboratory standard. Adapters allow compatibility with many container types.

Standard Laboratory Bottles

  • GL-thread bottles (GL 22–GL 45)
  • Compatible with most reagent bottles

Non-Standard Bottles & Glassware

  • S-thread bottles (e.g., S 40)
  • Ground glass joints (NS sizes)
  • Specialty lab containers

Large Containers & Canisters

  • Plastic containers with larger thread diameters
  • Requires adapter combinations for proper fit

Drums & Bulk Systems

  • Industrial drum bungs and threaded openings
  • May require multi-step adapter configurations
  • Compatible with remote dispensing setups for improved ergonomics

How to Determine Your Thread Size

To select the correct adapter:

  • Measure the outer diameter of the container opening
  • Identify the thread type (GL, S, or other)
  • Use the tool above to match your configuration

Thread size is defined by diameter and pitch, and adapters bridge the connection to the GL 45 dispenser standard

Adapter Configuration Basics

Some containers require a single adapter, while others require a step-up configuration:

  • Smaller threads, adapt up to GL 32, then to GL 45
  • Industrial connections may require multiple adapters
  • Material selection matters:
    PP: general use
ETFE / PTFE: aggressive chemicals or solvents

The adapter finder tool automatically shows the correct configuration.

Working With Bulk Containers and Drums

For high-volume applications, the Dispensette® S can be used with:

  • Floor-standing containers
  • Cabinet-stored drums
  • Remote dispensing systems

In these setups:

  • The dispenser can be mounted separately
  • Fluid is transferred via chemical-resistant tubing
  • Containers remain safely positioned off the benchtop
